The area is named for the Little River, a river that runs into the Atlantic Ocean at the border of North and South Carolina. Around 20 miles from Myrtle Beach, Little River has a much more relaxed atmosphere than the city, attracting permanent residents and visitors alike.

The Big “M” Casino can be found sailing up and down the river, offering a buffet, bar, but perhaps most importantly, being on of only two gambling ships in the Carolinas (the other being the SunCruz Aquasino). If you feel like a little Vegas-style gambling, the Big “M” is the place to be.

The town has its own library, but for families who need schools a small amount of travel will be required. The nearest schools can be found within just a few miles of Little River.

Shops and restaurants are plentiful in Little River, and the slow pace of life is a refreshing change for many. A great town to live or for an investment, the town’s unique location and features certainly make it worthy of a second look.
